For those of us that have seen Quadrophenia, those of us that have seen Pharell go from Nerd to Icecream, there is a level of understanding for the current “look”. It’s Bradley Wiggins dressed by Mark Powell at Sports personality of the year, its classic Ray Bans with a slick back side parting and top button fastened on a check collared shirt with a little polo player or rams head sitting on the right breast. Or alternatively, to try this trend in small doses put on some geeky glasses, suspenders and argyle socks. It is quite simply the look of now, the modern prep nerd. If you followed my blogs or the Pantone Colour Team’s, you will know that Tangerine Tango was the colour of 2012. Adorned by great styles, including Gourmet’s Tredici hybrid sneaker hiker and Supra’s Skytop in there Camo pack (read the blog here). This year Pantone have predicted Emerald 17-5641 to be the must have colour in any range! Described as “Lively. Radiant. Shoes have been a staple in the Firetrap collection for some time now, the brand has always been associated with being slightly on the fringe, young and trendy. Most of all, to me it conjures to the mind images of London. I grew up with Firetrap and always had an item or 2 in the wardrobe. So I grabbed the chance to work with the Firetrap head office, collaborating with 2 other designers we designed a re-invigorated, fresh range. Taking inspiration from the in house designed prints, denim collection and clothing samples. Utilising the amazing and easy to work with branding (got to love Deadly!), we produced a great looking range that I am proud to be a part of – available in the shops soon.
