Predicted by the Pantone Colour Team, the colour for 2012 is… Tangerine Tango! Ok, so I am not to mad on the colour as it stands on a TCX square (17-1463TCX)… but none the less, it is a bright, eye catching colour that feels warm and welcoming. Rich as a base and striking as a highlight, it will intrigue and challenge designers alike. For the slightly more feint of heart, expect to see small pops in the upper with the main burst hidden out of sight when worn and standing, ie, bright satin tangerine linings and steps in the heels of formal footwear bursting with a sheet of orange… I mean tangerine… And for those that embrace the colour of the year, we can expect bold, covered in colour units, complimenting the leather of a mens shoe welt.

With the military boot having a strong presence last Winter, the military theme is doing equally as well, utilised last season and going forward to the next in various forms . This SS12 it is taking its shape as lightweight but durable materials and directly borrowing the trusty old military camouflage.
As with most things in fashion (if not all), it’s all about interpretation. Personally I prefer the more subtle take of a camo with a twist than the outright raw traditional blur of colours it used to offer. Take a look at my light hearted and not so literal version of a 21st century camouflage.
